How mobile service works

No tow. No waiting room. We come to you.

Booking a mobile mechanic is simpler than dropping your car at a shop. Here is the whole process.

  1. 1

  2. 2

    We drive to you

Home, your office, or the dealership lot where the used car is sitting. Most appointments within a few days, urgent jobs often sooner.

  3. 3

    Diagnose and fix on-site

Honest diagnostics and the repair done in your driveway, with the work and pricing explained before anything happens.

  4. 4

    You drive away

Pay by card on the spot, get a written record of the work, and skip the shop entirely. That is the whole trip.

The details

Everything you might be wondering

How does scheduling work?

Call or text (973) 352-7913 with your vehicle information and a description of what is going on. We will ask a few questions to make sure we can help, then get you on the schedule. Most appointments are booked within a few days, and urgent jobs can often be fit in sooner, so it is always worth asking. When we book you, you get a time window for arrival, and we let you know if anything changes. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we ask for at least 24 hours' notice, because a last-minute cancellation means another customer misses a spot.

What happens when the technician arrives?

We arrive in a fully equipped service vehicle with the tools, equipment, and parts for your job. First comes a quick walkaround of the vehicle with photos. That is standard practice: it documents the condition of the car before we touch anything, which protects both of us. Then we verify the concern you described and get to work. If anything unexpected comes up, we contact you before doing anything beyond what you approved. When the job is done, we clean up the work area, walk you through what was done, and collect payment.

Where can the work happen?

Your driveway, a parking lot, an apartment complex, an office lot. Really anywhere with a flat, stable surface and enough room to work safely around the vehicle. It helps if the car is not blocked in by other vehicles and the surface is paved or solid; gravel is usually fine, mud is not. Certain jobs need access to an electrical outlet or water, and if those are available at your location we will ask. If we arrive and the setup is not safe for the technician or the vehicle, we may need to reschedule.

How does pricing work?

You get an estimate before any work begins, and nothing starts until you have reviewed and approved it. Labor is billed on the actual time the job takes, with a one-hour minimum per appointment. Travel time appears as a line item on the estimate up front: one-way travel from our dispatch point to your location, no surprises. Parts are priced at current market rates at the time of the estimate. If something unexpected happens mid-repair, like a seized bolt or a hidden issue, we call you before going any further, and an extra parts run is part of the billable time. Estimates are valid for 30 days.

Do you supply the parts, or can I bring my own?

We supply all parts. We source quality parts from suppliers we have vetted, and every part we supply is backed by its manufacturer's warranty. We generally do not install customer-supplied parts: when we control the whole job from diagnosis to parts to installation, we can stand behind the work. When a customer brings their own part, we cannot verify its quality or fitment, and in the rare case we agree to install one, there is no warranty on that part or the labor to install it.

What happens to the old parts?

If you want to keep the old parts we remove from your vehicle, just let the technician know at the time of service. Otherwise we dispose of them, and once the technician leaves, disposed parts cannot be recovered.

What if you find something else wrong?

It happens: a brake job turns up a torn CV boot or a leaking hose. When we spot something, we tell you, and we do not just start fixing things you did not ask for. If you want it handled on the spot, it goes on the estimate for your approval first. If you would rather schedule it for another day, we note it and set up a separate appointment. The same goes for extra requests at the door: we are happy to help, but it goes on the estimate first, so everything stays documented, transparent, and warranty-eligible.

What is your warranty?

Our labor warranty covers workmanship for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. If something we did fails because of how we did it, we come back and make it right at no labor charge. Parts carry their manufacturer's warranty; if a part we supplied fails under it, the replacement part costs you nothing and you cover the labor to swap it. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, electrical wiring repairs (inherently unpredictable, performed best-effort), customer-supplied parts, or issues caused by someone else's later work. If something does not feel right after a repair, call us: if it is our fault, the inspection and labor are on us.

What can a mobile mechanic not do?

We are honest about the limits. There is no lift, tire machine, alignment equipment, or refrigerant recovery system in the truck, so some jobs belong in a traditional shop. We do not mount or balance tires (we recommend a mobile tire service), do alignments, do exhaust work or brake lines (rust-belt components rarely come apart cleanly), pull engines or transmissions, replace timing belts or chains, or do head gaskets. We also do not work on classic cars, heavily modified vehicles, or EVs through our standard service. If a job is not right for mobile, we tell you upfront and recommend a shop that can help.

What if something unexpected happens during the repair?

We stop and call you before going any further. On older, high-mileage cars in our northeast climate, sometimes a bolt breaks or a part turns out to be corroded through where you cannot see it; when that happens, we explain what we found and what the options are, and if we can handle it on-site you get a revised estimate. In rare cases an unforeseen condition can leave the vehicle unable to be driven, for example a bolt that snaps inside the engine block, and it may need to be towed to a shop for the next stage. Towing and those additional repair costs are the customer's responsibility, and we always help coordinate the next step.

How does payment work?

Payment is due when the job is complete. We accept all major credit and debit cards as well as other common payment methods, and we go over the final invoice with you before collecting.

What is the best way to get started?

Call or text (973) 352-7913, or reach out through our contact page. Have your vehicle year, make, model, and mileage handy, along with a description of what is going on. The more detail you give us upfront, the better we can prepare and the smoother your appointment will go.
